essay 3. internet

Internet is probablly the best invention of our generation. Due to the mass growth of internet users I think our whole Earth has evolved. Technology is changing the whole world and it is largely thanks to internet. I personally use it for basically my daily living. I use it for school work, paying my bills, and most of all...communication on social networking sites. I think if you calculate all the time I spend on the internet between my cell phone applications, computer, even television, it probablly adds up to six to eight hours a day. Every aspect of my life needs internet. I guess I would say I am happy with my internet habits. I don't know if I have a choice to like it or not because it is a part of my daily habits. Without the internet I would not be able to go about my life. If I did choose to never use the internet again life would be a lot more difficult.
Recently, my job as a server at Hard Rock Cafe shifted our schedule and how we adjust our schedule to an online application called hotschedules.com. Using this website you can check your upcoming schedule, save your time off details, pick up shifts, and message other servers. Technically this would mean it is near impossile for someone to maintain their job at Hard Rock without the internet. This is an example of how internet is starting to truly dominate the world. Just 2 years ago we would only use pen & paper to do all of these server schedule tasks. That's how fast people are inventing new ideas to make life more simple and convienent using the internet.
There are a few websites that you can find me on most of the time. For social networking I use facebook.com. I actually talk to people more on facebook than I do on my cell phone. I honestly can not say that I know one friend that does not have a facebook. Another website I use obviously would be the valencia college website. I submit most of my homework and assignments on this website, as well as downloading assignments, and taking tests. Once again, being in school would be extremely difficult without internet. Another website I use quite often is yahoo.com. Using yahoo I can receive all my electronic mail as well as seeing top headlines in the news of a bunch of different catagories.

essay 2. Films.

I honestly think watching movies are my favorite thing to do on my "relaxation" days. I don't really have many of those kind of days with work and school so I'd assume I go see a good movie about one or two times a month. Maybe two or three at home on Netflix. I used to see them a lot more when I was in high school and had more free time. It is practically an American tradition if you ask me. What do couples usually do on a first date? Go see a movie. What do you usually do with a group of friends? Dinner and a MOVIE. When I was younger my family made Sunday nights movie nights. It is a great way to hang out and do something with people you care about.

There are so many movies that I have yet to see that I wish I had more time to do so. I have a list about a mile long that I haven't seen, but am dying to. Most of them include action movies such as "The Expendables," Batman: The Dark Knight Rises," and "Lawless." Luckily ones that are released on video, I have the convince of just ordering off of my smart TV on Netflix. I think watching movies has definitely became more convent to people. Especially

My favorite kinds of movies are Romantic Comedies, Romance, and Action. I'm not too big on Horror movies or gory films. My favorite films of all time are older movies such as "The Goonies," "Jurassic Park," and "E.T." I guess you could put Steven Speilberg as one of my top movie directors. He has a very adventurous way of keeping his films eventful and entertaining The worst movie I think I've ever seen is definitely "Don't Mess With the Zohan" with Adam Sandler. It was way too cheesy for my liking.people with hectic work and school schedules (such as me).

To me it is crazy how the movie world has changed over the last decade. I miss going to see movies in a drive in theater or having to drive to Blockbuster movie rental store to rent. It was so intriguing to me when my parents would take me to these places. Now it is all in the convince of our household electronics to bring movies straight to us. I think the fun and excitement is lost for families to rent movies.

Currently, I often go see movies with my boyfriend for date nights. Even though it is only a few times a month, it is a great way for us to spend time together. I don't always get to go see the girly movies I'd like since we have to agree upon one. It’s mostly action or comedy. Our most recent film we seen was a comedy called "That's My Boy" starring Adam Sandler. It was so hilarious. I also like to go see a good movie to catch up with old friends from home.

essay one. Outlook on reading.

Well I can't say my reading habits are anything habitual, but I do love spending some down time with a good story. I feel since I've started living on my own that my reading habits have declined from up to my usual expectations. You have all the responsibilities of paying bills, doing well in school, and maintang a social life. With all that comes work, work, and more... work. Therefore less time and no reading. I do wish life wasn't so stressful as an independent college student. I feel I would most definitley increase my reading habits.

When I do read it usually when i'm hanging out by the pool. That's about the only "down" time I get. I love to read several different magazines including: Cosmopolitan, Vouge, and Rolling Stone Magazine. They all carry topics about fashion trends, music, and advice coloums. These sorts of things are easy to read over a book because it's short and to the point. When I used to read books I loved fantasy books with mythical creatures. Popular when I was in high school was the Harry Potter series and the twilight series. I also love reading stories that have romance. One kind of reading I am very very familiar with is text books. I can't stand text books personally. I feel you can't learn certain things with out doing them hands on. Text books are basically, in my opinion, the worst thing to happen to the reading industry. They are boring, uninteresting, and basically useless.

I feel that reading is a great way to relax and escape from reality. I think it helps people become more creative with new ideas about writing. You can expand your vocabulary and imagination. It is almost like you escape to another world, but without even leaving your chair. We all need an escape from the stressful world we live in sometimes. So in my overall opinion, yes, reading is great for the mind, body and soul.

I feel others have much better reading habits that myself. My reading habits are not that well but it is something I wish to improve on. I don't even find time to read books I am interested in reading. Thats a major signal that my reading habits have decreased to nothing. I usually only read material that i'm required to read which leads to me being uninterested. If I could ask any other college student how they find the time or energy to find that "down" time or relaxation time, I would totally take their advice.

One of my all time favorite authors is Nicholas Sparks. He has an amazing talent with writing romance novels. A few of my favorite books include: A Walk To Remember, The Notebook, The Lucky One, and The Last Song. All of these books became hit movies. I love the books because its every girls fantasy to have "Mister Prince Charming." I can read his books in one day without stopping. He would for sure be the first author I chased after if I found time to read more novels.
